Hey friends!

Staying fit is so hard and staying focused is even harder!! Trust me, I know! I started the year with a really cool vision board and planned on getting sweaty at the gym on the daily or at least 5 times a week. I’m lucky if I’ve made it in there 3 times a week. Getting so real with you, Michael has to bribe me sometimes to get me to join him to a gym sesh. I cry, I  kick, I hide under my bed sheets and find millions of excuses not to go to the gym. Well the excuses are running out. It’s such a struggle for me because I see these girls after having 2-3 kids with beautiful fit bodies, and if anyone should have permissible excuses, it should be them. So as a girl from Vegas told me, I need to change things up. I want to look good, feel good and walk around with a proud body. Are you enjoying the long weekend?? I loved waking up here in Las vegas and can’t wait to tackle everything I have planned for this visit to the magic city. I’m vlogging my time here and can’t wait to share with you.

A lot of my friends have been noticing my lips a little more lately and it’s partially because I plumped them up a few months ago with Ily at Dr. Baumann’s office (see the process here) and because I have been doing these really easy and simple tricks to make them a little bigger as well. So of course I had to share these tips with you.

The products I used are from e.l.f cosmetics, but you can use whatever you have at home. I’m also sharing a quick and easy lip scrub recipe in case you want to make your own.

AT HOME LIP SCRUB

-Mix in a small bowl or on the palm of your hands

Brown Sugar = Exfoliator

Organic Honey = Natural Healing Properties (Antiseptic)

Organic Coconut Oil = Nourishing/Moisturizing

{ How To: Side Boho Braid || #FancyHairFriday }

Hey friends!

The weekend is upon us! Yay!! This week has been a fun one over here. Hope the same for you! I woke up on Sunday morning longing for pink hair again. I wanted a very light pink but my mom talked me into the new “IT” color – rose gold. Last time I went light pink and this time it’s definitely a little darker, but since these colors tend to wash off quickly, we went darker.  So for this weeks #FancyHairFriday hair tutorial I went with a trusty look which is this side messy boho-ish braid. I have done this style so many times because it’s not only super quick, but also easy to achieve and the best part, all you need are the elastic clear hair ties! Cool right? I have been out and about and the Miami humidity has gotten the best out of my hair till I combat it with this braid and I’m good to go. Seriously! Once you master this hair style, you will be able to do it with your eyes close.

{ Seeing Stars }

Although this is not a complete dress, meaning you can’t really wear it without a top underneath, it’s still considered a dress, and a cute one, that is. The dainty straps suspend the high neckline of a retro velvet dress cut short and sassy with plenty of fun for layering. I have worn this little number out a few times with a simple white tee and sneakers and loved the casual look. Re-wore it with booties and a long sleeved striped top, but this is the way I liked it most. I knew it would be a piece that I would wear time and time again. Since it’s been a little cooler in Miami, I paired it with my OTK boots and a nude lip. I topped off with my new Henri Bendel  Stanton Top Satchel Bag that I’ve been wearing non-stop since I got it.  You really can’t go wrong with a classic bag that will pair with all of your looks.

{ The Big Game Slow Cooker Tasting }

Hey friends! Last month I shared with you the events that were happening at Macy’s for the month of January (see more here) and the Big Game Slow Cooker Tasting event is the one I chose to attend. If I can be honest with you, years ago one of my Christmas gifts from a family member was a crockpot. And it turned out to be one of those gifts that has never seen daylight. It has been sitting in my house inside the box collecting dust for years now. I love the idea of a crockpot and how it cooks for you while you’re out and about so I never got rid of it, but never used it either. Mainly it’s my mom’s fault for not teaching me how to use it. Lol… Got to blame somebody, #SorryMom. So when I saw this event I knew it was one that I wanted to go to. And of course, just like every event that Macy’s has, it was fun, full of activities, but I went straight to the point and learned this really yummy recipe that I must share with you all. Not only is it delicious, but so easy to make. So here you go, grab your apron, your veggies, your crockpot and meet me in the kitchen. I love setting goals for myself and trying the whole30 or January detox challenge and using these sort of short goals to give me a boost. But more than that, I use these goals to motivate myself to get back to the gym and to kick start a lifestyle change. If not, sorry to break it to you, but once we are done with these challenges, they will have done nothing to us, but maybe shed a few pounds which will be gained right back once we start eating what we usually eat. I’m a true believer that more than setting goals,  you have to set for a lifestyle change. Start small. No need to starve yourself for days, but change small things that can turn into a habit. Did you know that it takes only 21 days to create a habit? So do that instead.

Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.

Maybe you enjoy eating chips with your sandwich, switch it for fruits instead.  Then move on to switching coke for water and so on.  You will see more dramatic changes in the long run.
