We all need a little break sometimes. Resting doesn’t mean you quit, it’s a gift to recharge your mind, body and soul!
A little before the holiday season started, sometime around November, I started to back away from social media and then took a full blown break. I’ve taken short breaks here and there, but this one was a long one. I needed it! This time, I was rarely posting and staying active. I needed a little time away to regroup, recharge and just sit still when I had a chance. Let’s be honest, sometimes we wake up and before we even get up from bed we already opened our social media platforms and bombarded our brains with thoughts and things. Believe it or not, I’m not the type to do that. I can go days without opening IG and other platforms. But while creating content, you need to stay active and post and interact. This time I pressed pause on all the content and just enjoyed the moment knowing that I didn’t have to post anything.
My brain is always on the go, I’m always thinking about 100 millions things at a time. Sometimes I go to sleep and dream of things I was thinking about before I went to sleep and wake up exhausted. I have a hard time just relaxing and do nothing. This wasn’t my life a few years ago. Years ago, disconnecting and relaxing was so easy for me, but ever since I quit my job at a local hospital in Miami and opened my store, Fancy Boutique things changed. This responsibility just always sits heavy on me. I guess that’s the joy of being a #BossBabe. I’m not mad about it, I love it! I love having my store, it’s my dream come true, but this sense of responsibility is on me daily. Ever since my first retail job, all I could wish for was to one day open my own store, and here we are 16 years later, I walk in to a space that I put my heart and soul in and its total bliss. Big dreams comes with big responsibilities, and I get that, but running a store, a blog and working a side job at night sometimes can be a bit too much and I needed to take a step back and enjoy the holiday season with my loved ones. But I’m back and ready to take it on full force so say a little prayer for me lol…
What do you guys want to see this year? What kind of content? I was thinking of starting my #FancyHairFriday tutorials again. What do you guys think?
