I always joke about wanting to be a mermaid, but I’m kinda serious! I’m a tropical girl and always dreaming of tropical getaways, warmer weather, sunny days, sandy toes, salty hair & crave the smell of the ocean. I’m not too fond of the open ocean so I’m convinced I wouldn’t be a great mermaid, but a girl can dream right? Even though I love the ocean I also have so much respect for it. I love watching it from the boat, fishing is my jam and running my hands through the water while the boat drives away is my fave. Here’s a fun fact about me! My biggest fear is to get pinched by a crab… I’m dead serious, I hate those crawly little guys. I can spot those little suckers from miles away and when I do, it’s over! I become totally paranoid.
Now, let’s chat about this cute outfit! I’ve been dying to get my hands on a cute denim skirt. I find them so cute and fun for summer. However, I also haven’t worn anything that low cut in a long time so when I tried these on, I was little hesitant. I’m not a fan of showing my bellybutton, however, because I’m so tall, it’s kind of hard to hide. So anything high waist is usually a go for me. This skirt is totally the opposite, it reminds me of my high school days when I used to wear a ton of Brazilian cut jeans. They were the teeny weeny low cut jeans. Those were put to rest a long time ago and I wasn’t mad about it. This skirt, although low cut, is pretty versatile. I’ve worn it with tees and sneakers, with a lace top and wedges and the last with this Maggie Ivory strappy crop top I picked up at Tobi, which is also available in red, black and sage. By the way, if you haven’t shopped this website, you’re missing out on the cutest things! They have such cute curated collections of summer must haves, latest trends, and basics at such good prices. I’ve scored the cutest things on here and have a cart full.

Bold ruffles, stripes and embroidery are all the craze this season and I’m all over it. These trends are a major hit among fashion girls, magazines, runways and yeah, they can sometimes not be the most flattering on everyone’s figure. However, today I’m going to share a few tips on how to work around it and make it work for you. Now that I own my own boutique I hear these comments from so many girls and here’s what I have to say!
Choose vertical stripes to lengthen your physique
Opt for the ruffles in the areas that you either want to accentuate or hide. Examples, arms or bum area.
Less is more, I think. I only choose items that are embroidered in areas that I don’t mind people looking at.
Now go shopping and keep these quick tips in mind.
For today’s #FancyHairFriday I have created this messy twist ponytail. This is a perfect go-to hairstyle for those days your hair is a little dirty, but either you don’t have the time to wash or going to the beach and pool. I sprayed a little bit of Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo and Voila! Read More…
A very special thanks to Simply Stylist and Coppertone for sponsoring such an amazing event and for the generous goody bag. Loved all the products and can’t wait to share some with my readers. #Sponsored #AD #Advertisement
Hey fancy friends!
A few weekends ago there was a lot of buzz about the Simply Stylist Miami event at the Eden Roc Hotel in Miami Beach with the new Coppertone Whipped lotion. Oh Em Gee… this formula is soooooo good and goes on so smooth.
The event was fun. We got to really connect and mingle with some of our favorite internet friends as the sun was out and so was every single cool blogger. Everyone gathered at the garden area and seemed to be having a blast while enjoying all the fun things to do under the tents. I got to get a mani by the LVX team and sipped on champagne and on delicious coffee while applying and learning about the importance of applying SPF.
According to SCF, sun damage is cumulative. Did you know about 23 percent of lifetime exposure occurs by age 18. No wonder when I turned thirty I felt my skin had changed so much. If only I knew the things I know now back then. Where were all these fun learning events at? Lol…
For today’s #FancyHairFriday I have created this really cute bend to my hair, leaving the bottom extremely straight and knotted the back so it wouldn’t have such a basic half up/half down look. Read More…
Did you have a nice long weekend? Michael and I had a chance to get away to Bimini for the weekend and Oh Em Gee, we had a blast. Didn’t realize how badly we needed to get away for a few days and recharge. I can’t wait to share the 10000 million photos we took at that beautiful Bahamian Island, but in the meantime you can get a sneak peek in my Instagram (@afancyaffair). Now, let’s talk about this adorable look I have going on. I have been really enjoying the whole stripe trend this season, the blue hues and everything in between. And even though I love to finalize my looks with gold jewelry, I’ve been gravitating towards silver a little more. So when searching for the right pieces, I found Touchstone Crystal, which offers a stunning jewelry collection, with each piece sparkling in Swarovski crystals. Cool right? I wanted to pick out a few pieces that can be worn on the daily and dressed up or down. I love a statement piece, but love daintier pieces even more. The necklace that I have on can be worn as a lariat or as a choker in the front and let the long piece hang in the back for those open back tops. The fact that the chain is so thin gives a sex appeal without being too much. After looking into Touchstone Crystal, I found out that you can be your own boss and become a sales rep for this brand, or host a party at home for your girlfriends and earn hundreds of dollars in free jewelry by hosting a Touchstone Crystal party. Cool right?
What have you guys been up to this season trend wise? Would love to hear from you on the comments down below.

How fun is dressing up for this season? I love all the vibrant colors, fun accessories like this cute straw bag and tassel earrings. Most of the looks/outfits I have been wearing lately are from my boutique- Fancy Boutique. I love to pick out items for clients and style each look according to their personally and I’m not going to lie sometimes they tell me they feel silly. We all have our individual style and that’s ok. I believe that getting dressed is the way you express your creative side to others. My favorite part about having the boutique has to be the styling part, putting each outfit together according to the occasion. That’s when my creative juice starts going and I feel fulfilled. You know those days that you just don’t feel like putting make up on, but want to feel put together? Well I have those days very often, especially to go to work. I take a ton of pictures daily, either for the blog or for the boutique, so looking put together is a MUST. For those days I like to focus on my skin, making sure it looks healthy and very glowy. Once I get the skin looking fabulous, I focus on the eyes and the lips. I add a simple winged eyeliner and bold lips. This is such an easy makeup look andgets all the compliments. Truth be told, I wasn’t good at doing a winged eyeliner, that is, until I met my match made in heaven – The Clarins 3 Dot liner. Oh Em Gee you guys! Read More…
