Today’s post is all about taming the mane and giving some major TLC to the first thing people see when they you, your hair! Having healthy hair is really important because, let’s be honest, messy hair is cute, but there’s no excuse for unhealthy hair. With all the products out there and the best invention yet, the dry shampoo, dirty hair is, as Fergie says, so 2000 and late. Today I’m getting a little intimate and taking you to the shower with me to show you my hair routine. I wash my hair two times a week, and use the Hair Food Dry Shampoo in between washes, especially because I work out.
Here’s what a typical wash my hair day looks like in my home. I try to wash it in the morning, so I have plenty of time to let it air dry. I jump in the shower, wash with Hair Food Color Protect Shampoo twice and once with the Hair Food Color Protect Conditioner. I leave the conditioner in my hair for a few minutes and take my time shaving and then I rinse. Once I get out of the shower, I towel-dry my hair, apply some leave in conditioner and make myself a yummy tea. I can either open my laptop and start working or I can just enjoy some “me” alone time and cuddle with Penelope. I watch TV and moisturize, do some face masks and so on! Why do I choose Hair Food for my shampoo and conditioner? Well, because it is super extensions and keratin treatment friendly, and I currently have both. The Hair Food Color Protect products smell amazing and protect color treated hair. They are sulfate free, parabens free, mineral oil free, dye free and gluten free. What else can you possibly want from a shampoo/conditioner, right?
I filmed a fun little video for you guys! Hope you like it.

The title of this blog post summarizes to a T, the way I feel like dressing up lately! All I want to wear are pretty “fancy” things, literally. Anything and everything from my boutique, Fancy Boutique. Opening this store was a huge dream of mine and it’s still a pinch me moment. I walk in every morning and think wow, dreams do come true. I have so many ideas for this little space, so many plans and things I want to do and the only thing I think of is why not? No matter how big the dream is, why not? Who’s going to stop me? But my favorite part is shopping for the store and picking out looks that I wish to see girls walking around in. My biggest hope is that girls walk in to the store and leave feeling confident, happy, pretty & empowered. So I only shop for things that I would absolutely love to wear myself and pick out the prettiest things. Really, everything with cute details, even if it’s a little lace like on these high waisted shorts. Isn’t the lace peeking through such a cute detail? I think these shorts should be in every girl’s closet and the color is perfection for spring. I paired them with this gorgeous off the shoulder crop top with bows on the sleeves and added these fun and festive earrings to tie in my newest Henri Bendel bag. What do you guys think of this look?
You say Cinco de Mayo & I say Margaritas!!! Tonight I will be hanging out with my favorite senoritas at Henri Bendel Aventura Mall, but first I wanted to share this fun #FancyHairFriday tutorial look with you all! Agin, this look is super easy to achieve and so extensions friendly! Watch the video and feel free to leave questions, concerns or comments below and I will gladly respond back.
This past weekend was so fun and I kick started my weekend with an amazing event on Friday night. I finally got to share the news about my boutique (Fancy Boutique) with some of my favorite blogger friends and it was a total success. I hosted a phenomenal and scrumptious dinner for 15 at Villa Azur. Read More…
For today’s #FancyHairFriday I have created two different hair styles that can be worn separately or together for a fun twist (literally!). I also added a bonus tutorial to show you how was you can pull your hair up and create a really quick messy bun utilizing these tools as well. These looks are so simple and it’s in partnership with Goody hair tools.
Goody Spin Pins
Wood Paddle Brush
Wood Round Brush
You all know that I use a lot of their product so when they asked to collaborate, I was like duh!! Let’s do it! I hope you like this tutorial and find it easy to recreate. Here’s what you’ll need for these 3 hairstyles.
Today’s #FancyHairFriday tutorial has been a very requested one. It’s my everyday curls using a curling iron versus a curling wand. I also did a day 2 follow up to show you how it looks on day 2 and how to revive it a bit. Watch the video and feel free to leave questions, concerns or comments below and I will gladly respond back.
The difference between my spring wardrobe last year to this year is HUGE! (Quick side note, I can’t say the word “huge” without thinking of Jimmy Fallon impersonating Donald Trump. Anyone else?)lol… Now back to my look. Last spring, I was all about the pastels, nudes, pinks and everything super light and airy. This year on the other hand, is all about bold colors & print for me. Anything and everything bright is coming home with me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not all I want to wear, but it’s definitely something I’m reaching for a lot more this time of year versus last year. I’m also digging a lot of stripes, floral prints (like this jumpsuit), denim on denim, white, blush and embroidered things (like this dress), but for example, this look would have never been worn until a few weeks prior to summer. I guess I’m in a happy, bubbly and bright place in my life at this moment. Another spring MUST HAVE are these gorgeous wedges. They are so comfortable and the platform height is just right! I got these last year, wore them a ton, and I couldn’t wait to take them out for a spin this year. I have literally worn them at least 6 times already.
Last week I mentioned on my Instastory (@afancyaffair) that I was doing some laser facial treatments at Vivid Face and received a ton of questions, so I wanted to answer some of them for you. I also had the opportunity to film the treatment because I wanted you to see how easy, simple, fast and painless the process was.
One of my new year resolutions was to care more for my skin and to be able to walk around with a fresh skin and no makeup on the daily. Years ago I would only apply lip gloss, some mascara, and call it a day and now I feel like I can’t. I have larger pores, a few marks and lots of sun spots. I want to erase some of that and dare to go bare, even though I do that from time to time, but I want to feel completely confident doing it. You know what I mean? My under eyes have increasingly gotten so dark and I look exhausted even after getting eight hours of sleep. So when the Vivid Face team reached out to me to see if I wanted to try their laser treatments, I was like, “umm, heck no”. In my mind, I was like “ain’t nobody got time to stay at home hiding from everyone with my skin peeling for days”. But then they told me it was a 15 minute procedure with no down time and my answer quickly changed to, “heck yeah!”. I have very sensitive skin and with the opening of my new boutique, I don’t have any downtime to stay home and allow my face to heal.
Vivid Face has a huge variety of procedures offered at their office and all supervised by doctors. They use combined advanced medical technology with innovative skin care treatment to deliver powerful results. The Vivid Facial treatment, which is what I did, can show results after the second treatment. However, I noticed some changes after just the first treatment and I can’t wait to go back.
If you want to erase a few years and give this treatment a try, the Vivid Face team sent the following discount code: VFA222. This offers you 50% off the first package of 3 Vivid Treatments.
Once I finish the 3 treatments I will make sure to update this post with before and after photos.
Today’s #FancyHairFriday tutorial has been a very requested one. I feel silly for saying this all the time, but really, this one is super easy. Watch the video and feel free to leave questions, concerns or comments below and I will gladly respond back.
